Board of Directors: Diane Penneys Edelman, President

Diane Penneys Edelman is Director of International Programs and a Professor of Legal Writing at Villanova University School of Law, where she has taught since 1993.  She directs the summer program in Rome co-sponsored by Villanova Law and University of St. Thomas School of Law, and teaches International Art & Cultural Heritage Law in that program as well.  She also serves as faculty advisor for the Art Law Society, the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and Barnes Foundation externships.  She earned an A.B. in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Brooklyn Journal of International Law. She also clerked for the Honorable I. Leo Glasser of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and was a litigation attorney at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan in New York and at Hoyle, Morris & Kerr in Philadelphia before teaching at Villanova Law. 

Professor Edelman served as President of the Lawyers' Committee from June 2011 through May 2014, and began serving as the president again in August 2015.
