Ratification by Chile of the Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property (Paris, 14 November 1970)

On 18 April 2014, Chile deposited with the Director-General its instrument of ratification of the Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property.
On 18 April 2014, the Director-General received the above-mentioned instrument. The instrument contained the following declaration:

“La República de Chile entiende que las disposiciones de la Convención no tienen carácter retroactivo y, en relación a su Artículo 13 letra d), esta se aplicará a los bienes culturales extraídos del Estado de origen después de la entrada en vigor de la referida Convención para los Estados concernidos.” [Original: Spanish]
