The St. John's Summer Study Abroad - Rome


Session Dates: Monday, June 1 - Tuesday, June 30, 2015

Students participating in the Summer Study Abroad program will spend four weeks studying international and comparative law at St. John's Rome campus. 

Art and cultural heritage highlights from past summers include: 

- A private audience with Pope Francis;
- An archeologist-led tour of the Roman Forum;
- A private tour of Villa Giulia to visit repatriated artifacts; 
- An exclusive visit to Biblioteca Casanatense; 
- A food tour highlighting the connection between Italian culture and its cuisine;
- A reception for the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See;
- A private session with a justice from the Constitutional Court of Italy, and a visit to the chambers.

Please note that the St. John's summer program includes International & Cultural Heritage Law as one of its course offerings. 

Program participants will earn a minimum of four and a maximum of six credits. For students from law schools other than St. John's please note that transfer of credits earned during the Rome Summer Program is solely at the discretion of your home institution. Before applying, please consult with your home institution about credit transfer procedure and requirements. 

Applications are accepted and students are admitted to the program on a rolling basis.  The admissions deadline is April 30, 2015

The total cost of the program is estimated around $4,850, which includes an administrative fee and double-occupancy housing in a local hotel. There is a non-refundable $600 deposit due with the application. An early bird discount of $250 will be given to applicants who complete and submit their application form and non-refundable deposit by March 15, 2015. Payments are due on or before May 15, 2015.
