Anita Canovas, Associate General Counsel for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, practices both corporate and preservation law, specializing in cultural resource, tribal and archaeological preservation, land use, and related environmental issues.  Prior to joining the National Trust, she was Assistant General Counsel for American Skiing Company in Killington, Vermont, handling corporate transactions and a variety of land use issues.  Ms. Canovas also served as Associate General Counsel El Paso Natural Gas Company in El Paso, Texas, where her practice focused on natural and cultural resource issues.  She is a graduate of Vermont Law School and The George Washington University.
