Partnership between LCCHP and the Antiquities Coalition

In Amman, On September 8, 2016, the Antiquities Coalition, Middle East Institute, and Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan hosted seventeen Middle East and North African countries and the League of Arab States for the second annual Ministerial-level #CultureUnderThreat Conference to coordinate efforts to halt the use of antiquities trafficking as a source of terrorist financing.

Since that gathering, a Task Force, has been formed to support this initiative.

In preparation for the fall 2017 Ministerial-level #CultureUnderThreat Conference in Egypt, the Antiquities Coalition has partnered with the Lawyers' Committee on Cultural Heritage Preservation to continue previous research on cultural heritage law of eight Middle Eastern countries to include all countries in the Arab League. Please continue to follow our website for future updates on this partnership.
